RTE’s transmission and network subsidiary, “RTE NL”, has confirmed late this week that SAORVIEW coverage levels, already at 98%, will be further enhanced by the addition of a number of new transmitter sites. In West Cork areas which stand to benefit by the new transmitters include:
• Mount Gabriel
• Leap
• Drimoleague
• Rosscarbery
• Timoleague
• Bandon
Having raised this issue with the appropriate offices on a number of occasions I welcome this confirmation especially the inclusion of Mount Gabriel on the Mizen Peninsula, and I trust that the inclusion of these extra sites will alleviate the concerns of all concerned.
